DPS mock up 3
I realised that on the other two DPS', I had placed a large image on the right page. On this DPS, I wanted to try and create someting a little diffrent, so I placed a large image on the left page with a white border around. The image I have used here is not my own but Photographed by Brett Lloyd of Josh Beech in issue 68 of 'Dazed&Confused' magazine. I feel that the vibe given from this shoot sums up very much what I want to create in my magazine. I think I may do an Analytical post of the shoot for inspiration. The expression given on the close up shot of the image connotes a rebellish, almost comical asthetic. The close-up of the model makes the photo seem more intimate, which could be a good shot to use in my DPS as I feel that the interview will allow the audience to 'get to know' the artist better.

DPS mock up Two.

On this DPS, I like the way in which I have experimented with the title by halving the colours on either page. I think that by using the colour tones from the artists skin makes the colour palette seem more intimate perhaps, and more inviting. I feel that the softer tones may relate to the fact of the audience getting to know the artist better as well as adding to the simple layout which makes the image stand out more.
I like the image I have used on one page here, I feel that this mid-shot - firstly meant for the cover shot - works well and is simple, yet the artist is easily recognised and presented as down-to-earth perhaps. This could appeal to readers as they are not intimidated by the artist and feel as if that he could just be another regular lad.

This is probably my faviourite DPS as I feel that the layout overall is most effective due to the boldness of the images and title alongside the monochrome colour palette. I have used an image on the right hand side from a previous inspiration post as I previously described it as being in keeping with my genre of music and the asthetic look I am going for with my shoot. I think that the overlap of a lyric in large print works well as a trasparent layer ontop of the image, this is something I would like to consider when creating my final DPS.
