Rebel Mockup 3
For this mock-up, I wanted to experiment with the masthead and make the cover have a more arty appeal. I decided to use animage of a Union Jack flag and stenciled it to my masthead. Another reason for this decision being that it links to the coverline 'British ROCK Youth'. A downside to this would also be that it is more fashion related than music as well as perhaps it being too simplistic - maybe use more coverlines to break up the image and add interest for an audience appeal.

Cover Mock Up Two.

On this mock-up, I tried to incorporate my origional idea of having a profile mid-shot of my artist. I feel that this worked well but when shooting, my shots were limited and very similar. I feel that also, the mockup looks too simplistic with this image, perhaps if I tried this again on my actual shoot with styling etc, it would be more effective.
From comments, I can gather peer assesment and outside views on my mockups. From a comment below, I feel that the colour tones work well although I do agree that perhaps more coverlines could add interest, as well as steer away more from the 'fashion magazine' look surrounding my mock-up covers so far. Despite wanting a implistic layout, much like 'WONDERLAND' magazine or 'i.D', I feel that a few more coverlines would be best suited.

This is my first and probably my favioritemock-up. I feel that the image has a good golden spiral and the eye contact shown from the model will appeal to an audience and draw them into purchase.
I think that the coverline 'The Music of British ROCK Youth' works well, and is something I will incorporate into my final design. To improve this, I think I could photoshop a crown of some sort onto the text, inspired by the 'Dazed & Confused' cover seen on the backgroundof my blog page. Another idea could be to incorporate a crown into my photoshoot, being careful that it does not overpower the model, resulting in loss of eye contact etc.
