Dazed&Confused Issue 68 - Shoot inspiration

I feel that from looking at this shoot, immediately, the use of props comes to mind. I feel that the mix-match of objects makes the shots appear less organized and more rebellious, I feel that this is something I could definitely consider on my shoot as well as the use of instruments.
I can see that the shots have been taken from a creative use of angles and perspectives, almost appearing as if this is just a shoot with a friend, I feel that the use of a flash gives a nice effect and reminds me almost of a previous Vivienne Westwood advertisement campaign. I think that a flash could be something to experiment with to give a unique appeal for a first-time magazine. I also like the way the images are presented, how they are cut and overlapped with either white or black in the background.
I feel that the models have a 'look' that is similar to my artist and also how I see my target audience appealing to. This shoot makes me think of other ways I could present my artist, be it lying on the floor, or perhaps with face paint. I like the almost amateur-look of the photographs which made me think that my audience will not be looking for perfection but controversial. Another think is that my shots are limited to a DPS, contents and cover, so perhaps I should put more thought into my angles etc and convey the right message and capture the right image.
However, I will not be presenting my artist in quite the same way as these models are seen here, although the clothes will still convey a rebellish rockaholic style.
