Magazine Pitch Evaluation.

I feel that my pitch went very well within the class. I played the animoto video to the class and then I was videoed when getting feedback and answering questions from my class.
From the question asked from one member of the class: 'what will your article be about?', made me think and made me realise that not only will my artist need to 'look' right, but also, the artiocle needs to refelct the way that they would speak etc. I feel that an interview would be best suited for my DPS as I am doing a feature shoot with the artist and usually paired with this is an interview.
'merging the line of fashion and music' was oe of the phrases I used in my pitch. From this, I have concluded that I will merge the styalisation and design of 'Dazed & Confused' alongside 'Rolling Stone' magazine as I feel that the art influence of 'Dazed' and the simplistic layout of 'Rolling Stone' will go well together creating a nice contrast of the two.
My presentation to the class helped me to finalise my ideas for my magazine. I decided that a saturated image on the cover will be most effective as it seemes to go down well with class.
I feel that having thought about my magazine beforehand halped me to explain my vision to the class more clearly and answer their questions asked with efficiency without having to think too much, trying to invision something on the spot.
I would say that the downsides to my animoto pitch would be that I didn't include much about a colour palette, although I added the word 'saturated' to relate to the editing of the images I want to use. I feel that perhaps I'm not too sure as to what it will eventually be and it is something I am waiting to overcome at the editing stage of making my final magazine, depending on the shoot, styling etc.
I feel that by performing a pitch to the class, I have definetly thought more about my shoot and now my magazine concept seems alot clearer.

  1. i experienced matts pitch at first hand and would agree that it went very well. he left no confusion and the questions asked he had taken thought to and prepared for such questions. I like the main theme of rebelion and think it will work very well when it comes down to the drafts. Well Done Matthew.
